SURG 221 - Surgical Technology III 4 Credit Hours
The student will learn the human disease processes related to origin, diagnosis, treatment and/or surgical intervention, including adaptation and injury processes, as well as the role of microorganisms in the human body. Examines major body systems and disease mechanisms, as well as care and disease prevention methods. OSHA criteria for bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases are discussed. This course provides 3 hours of lecture and 1 hour of lab skills.
Pre-requisite(s): Successful completion of SURG 101 , SURG 121 , and SURG 122 with a “C” or Higher. Co-requisite(s): SURG 222
