COSM 103 - Introduction to Hair Care

4 Credit Hours

This course provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts and techniques of hair care and design, following the Milady Standard Cosmetology, 14th Edition. Students will explore the history and career opportunities within the cosmetology industry while developing foundational skills in hair design and services. Topics include principles of hair design, client preparation, haircutting, hairstyling, braiding and braid extensions, and wigs and hair additions. Emphasis is placed on professional practices, sanitation, safety, and the development of foundational technical skills necessary for success in cosmetology.

Pre-requisite/Co-requisite(s): COSM 101 .
