EDET 200 - Utility Line Worker Practice I
4 Credit Hours
This course provides supervised practical applications for electrical overhead line workers’ job duties in a setting under direct supervision of Pike Corporation. Emphasis on skills to safety climb wood poles, the operation of a line truck, settling poles, framing poles on the ground, and operation of a digger derrick, rigging, wire identification, and use of rubber goods will also be learned. This course provides the student with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to assist with the performance of maintenance and testing in distribution circuits.
