PTHA 220 - Patient Care Skills
4 Credit Hours
Introduction to pertinent aspects of physical therapy practice including ethical behaviors, legal practice standards, regulatory bodies, communication, the role of the PTA, and professionalism. Students will learn about documentation and billing, data collection, gait training, assistive device fitting and training, wheelchair mobility, collection of vital signs and anthropometric measurements, positioning, transfers, infection control, postural alignment, body mechanics and safety. Students will receive CPR certification by the conclusion of this course.
Pre-requisite(s): PTA program admission.
Co-requisite(s): PTHA 222 , PTHA 230 .
