SOCS 237 - Human Behavior and Social Environment II
3 Credit Hours
Methodological and theoretical study of the bio-psycho-social elements of human behavior. Students will develop a theoretical and conceptual knowledge of human behavior applicable to competent social work practice. This course supports the social work focus on person-in-environment transactions by examining the biopsycho-social-spiritual development of young adolescents, young adults, middle aged adults, and adults in late adulthood and their membership in families, groups, and communities with special attention to the relationships among biological, social, psychological, cultural, and spiritual systems as they affect and are affected by human behavior and of the consequences of diversity in ethnic background, race, class, sexual orientation and culture in a pluralistic society. Core Course: Must be passed with a grade of “C” or higher.
Pre-requisite/Co-requisite(s): SOCS 236 .
