The Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Nontraditional Degree (STAND) programs purpose is to provide those individuals who participate in a registered apprenticeship and work in a recognized skilled trade to earn a college degree through a combination of coursework, On the job training (OJT), and participation in a Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Training programs. Designed specifically for those enrolled in or who have completed registered apprenticeship programs STAND bridges the gap between vocational training and academic credentials.

Component II: Technical Core/Occupational Safety
Registered Apprenticeship Training Program 33-40 Credit Hours 450-750 Classroom/Laboratory Contact hours of Occupational Education converted to credit hours at usual ratio of 15:1 (classroom) or 30:1 (laboratory) Subtotal 40 hours maximum Component III: On-the-Job-Training
5-12 Credit Hours Maximum of 2,400 contact hours of on-the-job training, converted to credit hours on a ratio of 200:1, can be counted toward the A.A.S. degree. A statement of the total number of contact hours experienced on the job by the student may be placed on the college record. This credit will be recorded immediately prior to graduation from the college. Subtotal 12 hours maximum Program Total 60 Credit Hours
