ENGL 090 - Integrated Developmental Reading and Writing
4 Credit Hours
A one-semester accelerated pathway course required of students that need both Developmental Reading and Developmental English. Stresses improvement through integration in college reading and writing skills. Credit not applicable toward degree. Required of students scoring below 17 on the ACT Reading Main and scoring below 18 on the ACT English Main or placement scores for the Accuplacer below 88 on the Sentence Skills test and scoring below 79 on the Reading Comprehension test. Strongly recommended that this course combine both lecture hours with a minimum of 100 minutes of mastery-based Lab hours per week. The use of technology as instructional support is needed to customize mastery-based learning and reinforce course competencies.
Co-requisite(s): GNED 100 or equivalent.
