The Nail Art & Technology Advanced Skill Set Certificate (ASSC) program consists of 16 credit hours of instruction of both theoretical and practical skill development (420 hours) required for licensure by the West Virginia Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists. Students must present a copy of their license to the Registrar’s Office before the Advanced Skill Set Certificate can be awarded.
This comprehensive Nail Art & Technology offers structured curriculum consisting of three courses that cover essential aspects of nail care, technology, and artistry. This program is designed to equip students with foundational knowledge in nail anatomy, safety practices, basic procedures, and advanced nail art techniques. Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Physical requirements include finger dexterity, negative allergic reaction to cosmetic preparations, and artistic flair for creative design. The nail technician should enjoy working with the public and in a team atmosphere. People skills and time management skills are essential.
