MATH 101 - Quantitative Reasoning


3 Credit Hours

This course is designed to expose the student to a wide range of mathematics topics. Problem solving and critical thinking skills, along with the use of technology, will be emphasized and reinforced throughout the course as the student becomes actively involved in solving application problems. Topics to be covered include Logical Reasoning, Set Theory, Descriptive Statistics, Probability, Linear and Exponential Functions, Personal Finance, Geometry, Number Sense (Estimation, Scientific Notation, Fractions, and Percentages), and Financial Management.

Pre-requisite/Co-requisite(s): ACT Mathematics’ main score of 19 or higher or ACCUPLACER Elementary Algebra score of above 83 or Next-Generation ACCUPLACER QAS score of at least 250 or ACCUPLACER Arithmetic test score of at least 85 or SAT Math score (Taken before March 2016 or later) of at least 510 Students not meeting one of these prerequisites must enroll in MATH 101E .
